Vertical Dance, Sound and the Local Community at Bellahøj

Bellahøj is an area on the outskirts of Copenhagen that is most noticeably made up of multiple apartment tower blocks that dominate the skyline.

After working in the tower blocks over a period of months, the artists moved from observers to becoming a part of the area’s daily routine. This interaction informed the boundaries and possibilities to create the performance. Both for the people that live in the buildings and those that pass through the surrounding area.

This project invited the local community to experience their immediate vicinity and every day spaces in a new way and for a general public to be introduced to the towers from the inside looking out.
